Well, well well... a proper underrrgrrround club
run by clubbers for clubbers... and yes, it's in London!!!
A truly underground
club, with, if you go up to the roof, more stairs than you'll ever
want to climb.
Where do clubs come from? Well there's something of a family tree
here in this case.
Some years ago, DJ Pete Wardman set up a club running on Sunday
evenings, called Sherbet, and regulars there got to calling
themselves the Sherbet Family. When Sherbet closed, after someone
died there, the Sherbet regulars decided to keep the party going and
Family was born.
The sound is hard trance and nu-nrg, in the main room, with more funky
choons being played in another smaller room.
The crowd is a mix
of gays and straights, with a very friendly atmosphere. On the night
I went, Dave Randall, Rob Q, and Mark Allen were
amongst the DJs, along with Chris Todd, Ian and Scott
Hardy, and the atmosphere was genuine clubbing.
Fantastic value for money for a Friday night in London at £5
(b4 11:30; £8 after), running from 10:30pm. Entry is by invitation
or flyer only.
It's not widely promoted and the best way to go is to find out info
from their
website.
