At
28, Craig has ten years experience playing local underground events
and has a sixty minute recorded set at the Custard Factory's
recording studios in Birmingham under his belt. Currently he's playing
at a gay night every second Friday of the month at the Ministry
Bar in Shrewsbury.
Over the last three years he has created his own particular sound,
playing on three decks and a sampler. He specialises in deep progressive
Tech House with breaks, samples, effects, scratches and acapellas
dropped in throughout. He prefers to keep the music flowing with minimal
breakdowns, but the breakdowns he prepares are designed to take the
roof off. He says "The base of my music is hard with a tribal
feel, cutting edge sounds, new music build ups and explosions and
I'm now laying down my own tracks and samples onto CD for an even
more unique sound. I've been a clubber myself for years and understand
what noises and frequencies hit the right spots at the right times."
His wide range of musical influences over the years, covering house,
hard house, trance, teachno, breakbeat, old skool and garage makes
it difficult to pigeon-hole his current style under one label. For
instance currently, at Ministry Bar he plays with a percussionist,
something many DJs would balk at doing, but Craig says that when he
does so "it absolutely goes off". |
