Pros
and Cons...
Here's some of the reason's I've enjoyed club promotion...
(...despite the fact that people can't
spell my name right)

On
moving the club to Birmingham...
jona id travel to the ends of the earth for 2klub, so good for
you lets ave it baby!!!!! no problem-distance is conceptual
anyway....
On taking someone
to Trade for the first time...
Oh my God how can I ever
return to a normal club again Thank you so much Jonathan for
a mental weeekend Trade was wicked the music, the venue the
people it was all amazing.

On the Love
Parade, Leeds, 2000 2Klub float...
TO JOHNATHAN & ALL OF HIS MANY FOLLOWERS THANX 4 PUTTING ON
AN EXCELLENT SHOW AT LEEDS. UR FLOAT TOOK OVER THE WHOLE PARK
(SERIOUSLY STOMPIN)

Big up the best sounds coming from the Love Parade. Pure underground
hard house with class mixing. Once I'd found your float I
didnt want to go anywhere else. The DJ in the baseball hat
who started around 7ish with Scott Project 'I got a feelin'
was well good. I just wanna say hats off to all.

I think the 2klub float at the Love Parade was definatly one
of the best there - Did anyone else catch Eddie Halliwell
when they stopped the float? I CREAMED MY JEANS!

Oh my God what a weekend. Thank you Jonathan for putting together
what was without doubt the best float it was a bit like challenge
Aneka putting together a banging hard house float in 24 hours
but you pulled it off mate, well done.

You guys dropped some mad tunes at the Love Parade and showed
the big boys how it should be done! Nice one! We followed
your float round for most of the evening. Still coming down
now! Catch you there next year!
On bringing
pople together:
just to say thanks to everyone for a top friday wish it could
of gone on, thanks to johnathan 4 being an absolute sweety,

THANKS TO DAVE, SHAUN, DES, JESS, KIRK PLUS EVERYBODY ELSE,
AND ESPECIALLY TO JONATHAN, IF IT WASNT FOR YOU WE WOULD NEVER
HAVE MET EACH OTHER. MESSAGE TO THE QUEEN - PLEASE KNIGHT
EDDIE HALLIWELL AS HE HAS TO BE THE GREATEST DJ THAT EVER
WALKED THIS EARTH, EVEN IF HE DOESNT LIKE BROCCOLI!

High to everyone at 2Klub you are all f**king lovely, especially
Shaun, Jess, Dave, Ant, Marianne and all the people that there
isn't time to mention although johnathan and Clare are bloody
stars too.

On Eddie Halliwell...
First visit to 2Klub on 12th May. Who the bloody hell is that
fella Eddie Halliwell? He was superb! I shall be looking out
for him at future events. When he played TDV mix of 'Hooked'
I must have looked posessed on the dance floor. Great things
to come I think. Next date for me is July. See you there.
Along with that smiler Mr Halliwell hopefully!

I'm not normally in to hard house and had to be persuaded
to go by a mate - i wasn't sorry! I know i had a good night
because there's a period of about 2 1/2 hrs that i can't remember.....
I'll be going again.

2klub is without a doubt the best club in the city at the
moment, the people make it, such a funky, fantastic bunch
of guys and gals. Eddie Haliwell is a true genius, totally
wicked

absolute class night, really like eddie halliwell. thought
he was going to blow the speakers.
On
clubbing and the club in general...
I'm fed up with Sundissential and visited your club a few
weeks back. It was fabulous. I'll be back with my other ex-sundissential
friends on the 12th of May!

I just want to say you guys are so lucky to have a club like
2Klub. I loved the samples on this page and i cant stop listening
to them.I only wish Sydney had something similiar, maybe you
guys ought to set up down here and show them the way its done!!!!!

Had a brilliant time last night people! First time at 2KLUB
and I was knocked off my feet by the tunes. Mad! Uptempo!
The best HARD HOUSE I have heard this year.

And finally, to Jonathan and Kirk. The people I was with this
weekend adore you both and I feel nothing for that but respect.

Nice one Jonathan for sticking around after
Storm-it was well funny and once again I found my Comedown
Nirvana on your leather chair! The catchphrases are still
haunting me though - Mary Hinges, Beeping Slags etc etc etc.....

By
way of balance, here's an exmple of why you might not want to
get into club promotion.
You get to meet all sorts of people. Most are wonderful, but
not all.

A rather different view...
"Jonathan ..., started his pursuit of becoming "popular" when
he was a very small child (much like he is now). As he has travelled
through life, obviously through no fault of his own, he has become
a very sick, bitter and invariably twisted character indeed. When
i discovered him, alone and "sad" i immediately took pity on the poor
fool, as i know have many people, and tried to rescue him from his
cave of self pity and depression. Most of which was caused by his
constant paranoia and lack of self-esteem. I was unsuccessful. Jonathan
has a skill at being a freak and re-cycling his network of what he
calls friends (but if you ask them they've probably only met him once
in subway, where he tried to chat them up and failed) is common place.
The truth is he tries to run a club only so he can pretend to himself
he is popular and surround himself with young boys (perve).
Reality check:- You'll never have true friends. You'll never be a
success. You'll never have a valid reason for being alive."
I put this message up here as a warning to anyone
who wants to get into club promotion: you are running an enterprise
open to the general public. You may start a club just with mates,
but bear in mind that you will occasionally come across people who
definitely aren't.
Tbe lesson: if you want to get into club promotion, and haven't
got a thick skin - grow one quick! |
